Debbie Grayson (BSc. Pharm, Dip Nut CNM)
Debbie has over 20 years’ experience as a pharmacist and has been teaching first aid for over eight years. In her first aid training courses she shares her extensive experience of common first aid situations from burns and bleeds to choking and breathing issues. Her pharmacist background also means she is able to comprehensively discuss the signs and symptoms of serious illnesses, which she also brings to all her first aid courses.
Debbie has an extensive training background within her work environment and also the voluntary sector due to a background in expedition leadership within the Scout movement.
Her medical background enables her to give a simple explanation of the underlying physiological responses, which improves understanding amongst course participants and is perfectly pitched for those working in the health and fitness industry. Her training approach is to ensure the courses are fun, with practical hands-on scenarios and a wide variety of training aids to ensure participants really take on board the first aid messages.
Debbie has delivered a whole range of first aid courses and takes pride on tailoring the course to suit the participants with the use of targeted scenarios. She will contact participants in advance of attendance to ensure that any requirements can be catered for.
She is also a nutritional therapist and as well as working in a pharmacy Debbie has a busy lifestyle and nutrition coaching practice and is heading up a GP engagement project for BANT.
